We had an OOPS baby.

I have doves named Jack and Lily, we have had them for about 5 years. during this time they have had 8 babies. We gave 3 of them away and we kept the other 4, one died about 2 years ago, so now we had 5 at our house. Lily lays 2 eggs about every 3 weeks and I usually switch them out with the unfertilized eggs that my other female dove have lain. They are in separate cages from Jack. I guessed I missed the fertilized egg because Saturday I am petting Lily and I see a broken little egg and find this little one. They are so fragile and small I love them so much. Jack and Lily have never minded that we handle the baby or them. They are very social and sweet birds. Pats not so thrilled.

In this picture Cedar is holding him at one day old and then Mckenna and Keely are holding him at 3 days, they grow really fast. It only takes 18 days for the egg to be lain and then to hatch it is amazing.

Out for a little stroll...

We all took the dogs for a nice long walk this past weekend because Pat was having his ankle fixed after breaking it this summer. He has had trouble ever since but they thought it might heal. They ended up finding a bone chip about the size of a stretched out nickle, no wonder he couldn't really move, it kind of sat in there like a door stop not allowing his ankle to bend. It has now been about a week and Pat is doing great, it already seems like its better. We are glad we had it fixed. Anyway the walk this day was great but we froze to death, I think it was like 25 degrees outside. burrrr!!!

Happy 11th Birthday, Oakley!!

So Oakley is getting way to old. What happened? He had friends over and we took them swimming to try to wear them out, it didn't work. But they had a blast, after swimming they told scary stories, or talked about girls I am not sure which. We got up and all walked the dogs and they just played non stop. Cedar had Keely over for girl support. We had a great time with a bunch of awesome kids.

My Dad turned 72 on Christmas Eve.

Happy Birthday Dad! Cindy's family and ours all went to mom and dads for Christmas Eve for dads birthday and the awesome fondue dinner mom makes each year. We spent the whole day together and had a blast. The time with family is so precious, all the kids are so grown up and its great to have these bits of time together as a whole family. We love to play games and eat and of course mostly talk, talk and more talking. I love you all so much!

11 days of Christmas.

Oakley and Cedar got to open a little package each day till Christmas. Usually I do the 12 days of Christmas but this year I was a bit behind and didn't get my plan all worked out. The kids made a little homemade book and each day they had to write down special things they are proud, thankful for, love, wish, etc. and it would go along with how many days left until Christmas. It was fun and will be neat to look back on in the future.
Keely and Cedar stayed outside as long as they could possibly stand it. This fort was so cool and I thought these pics of them needed to get posted.

This program started off the Christmas Holiday so nice. They sang some awesome songs and all looked so stink'in cute, it really got you into the spirit of the holidays.

We had so much fun with friends and family. Here we were at the Sand Trap having dinner and a bit of a boy vs girl competition.
